Kate Clare Couture For An Outdoor Vow Renewal Wedding Shoot At Danby Castle

And now for something a little different… we’re bringing you a styled vow renewal wedding shoot, with rustic yet pretty touches and romantic moments.

The warmth that glows from this set of images has got us all dewy-eyed. Today’s shoot comes to you courtesy of a talented team of top notch suppliers (mostly UNVEILED Network Members no less!), and they’ve certainly done an outstanding job. We’re swooning over the abundance of delicate florals, the peachy tones and that throwback-style, vintage boho dress, just perfect for any age, which almost steals the show.

Even with the latest restrictions and rules, there’s no reason that vow renewals can’t go ahead and be every bit as special as the first big day was all those years ago. We adore the idea of a couple sticking together through the hardest parts of lockdown, tackling the year head on as a team and then choosing 2020 as the right time to reaffirm their love for each other and take their vows again.

We caught up with the creatives involved to hear a little more about the concept and the way it all came together on the day.

INSPIRATION

The team say: This was a styled shoot at Danby Castle, North Yorkshire. The shoot was styled around an intimate vow renewal and we wanted to showcase the passing of time and that even though the couple are now older there were still as much in love as when they first married. They have much right as newly engaged couples to celebrate their love and time together. We also aimed to highlight the natural beauty of both the relationship and the location.

LOCATION

We were initially drawn to Danby Castle for its stunning ruins, which had never been styled as an outside dining area before and felt it would be perfect for the more intimate vibe we were looking for.

STYLING

The florals by Peony & Gold Floral Designs were designed to complement the natural colours of the area with nudes and oranges highlighting the fantastic stonework of the ruins. We wanted an abundance of florals to show that you don’t need small designs just because the wedding is small. We used a column of florals to frame the arch of the ruins and designed the floral arrangements to almost appear as though they were growing there. We repurposed the décor between the ceremony and the reception to highlight that the designs can be used throughout the day and aren’t limited to one area.

The cake by Where The Ribbon Ends was just stunning, with a mixture of sugar flowers and hand painted foliage in keeping with the natural beauty of the location

The stationery by White Orchid Print & Design was classic luxury, in keeping with the slightly older couple and the fragile nature of the venue and the natural beauty of the countryside around. Complete with vow renewal books with sumptuous pink ribbon for a touch of luxe.

ATTIRE

The Starflower dress is part of the new wildflowers collection from Kate Clare Couture. Made from beautiful silk satin overlaid with dotted tulle and lace, the Starflower has luxurious detailing with vintage boho vibes. These dresses are all handmade to order in Kate’s studio in Yorkshire. Perfect for a boho bridal look vow renewal, without the over statement of the stereotypical wedding dress.

BEAUTY

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 rules we weren’t able to utilise a hair stylist or makeup artist and so the model did her own makeup and hair.

RESULTS

Because it had been so long since any of the suppliers had worked on a wedding, we all really enjoyed doing what we do best – creating stunning weddings. It was a relaxed and supportive environment with everyone pitching in.
