We’ve fallen for the dip-dyed cheesecloth drapes, glittering fairy lights and eclectic mix of candles in a big way. The venue looks dreamy, the food looks incredible and the couple look stunning, especially that gown! And those SLEEVES! J’adore!
Romance and luxury doesn’t always have to be fussy and fluffy, it can be kept rustic and timeless with the right eye for the job, and it seems these girls certainly have the magic touch. We just love the simplicity of those invitations, the pops of peach in the huge, totally extra florals and the indoor-outdoor flexibility of the hexagonal ‘arch’ as a backdrop. We could go on! But we’ll let Lucy and Megan from BelleBijoux take over from here…

Lucy and Megan say: We were asked to come view Wold View Farm at the end of 2019 with plans to run a styled shoot there once the main renovation work had been completed. Then Covid hit and put all plans on hold. The venue is quaint with rustic charm and we knew we wanted to bring out these characters with a rustic yet eclectic luxe vibe.
Corona hit us hard, but we turned the negative into a positive and embraced the challenge of creating content. With no weddings to focus on, it gave us drive and much needed visions. We’ve worked with some amazing teams and love collaborating, embracing the ‘collaboration over competition’ ethos. We’ve found out support is everything in this industry and there’s been truck loads out there for us all.
The venue was new and under renovation but we straight away fell in love with the surroundings and embraced all the undressed features. We knew we could bring this venue to life, capturing all elements of a ‘real wedding’.
Once we’d visited the venue ourselves we started pinning ideas and colour palettes. We wanted to show clients that it’s ok to use an array of colour and still create something eye-catching and luxe. We wanted this shoot to be a ‘sellable’ approach. As soon as we knew we wanted to use lots of pastel and muted colourful tones, we knew which suppliers would embrace our visions. Our main colour was a muted mauve.
We wanted to keep the theme classic but with a modern twist, hence using dip-dying ivory cheesecloth to create one of a kind tablecloth and chair drapes. We weren’t afraid to mix colours and materials, so literally gave this as a brief to our chosen suppliers. The majority of our suppliers involved are all part of the UNVEILED Network, which was so handy for us. We found Freya Raby through the network and were in awe of her work. Her natural images and detailed shots are what we needed for this shoot. Sarah Taylor of Plume Creative, the videographer, came recommended through Freya and she too was amazing, and her video release captured all the moments in real time, so was a true reflection of the day itself.
We needed twinkly lights for a backdrop – a must in our eyes, so we sourced Typical Type and their beautiful cross back chair and trestle tables. Somers Creative, who we work with and love, created some modern yet pretty cool stationery to match the theme consisting of menu cards, place names, invitation and save dates, helping with the fluidity. She also created an acrylic welcome sign to nestle on our colourful drapes. We worked with Lo to create a statement table plan. We wanted this to be a focal point. So, using our colourful and eclectic vases of different sizes, we asked Lo to use her beautiful calligraphy skills to write the table plan on the bottles, making it a statement area!
Nicola from Dittany Entwined was someone we’d never worked with before, but she is literally amazing at constructing her florals. Her creative approach, and not being afraid to mix colours and textures fitted in perfectly. Her florals were big and bold and were displayed so intricately but with an effortless approach. Juniper Cakery is local to us, with a huge social media following. The three-tier cake and iced florals in peach and white with gold accents, sat amongst our colourful candleware, flowered vases, and tall striking candelabras. They also supplied some cute pink and gold macarons as favours. These favours sat prettily upon and amongst White House Crockery’s blue charger plates, gold cutlery, Cora gold rimmed glassware and navy glass tumblers – talk about mixing wonderful colours! Baba Ganoush were there creating some luscious food. They created a starter, main and dessert to fit the colour pallet. The grazing board full of cheese, meats and breads sat proud on two rustic barrels. Charlotte and her colourful cocktails, from Piano Bar Events, were great. She created a striking yet fitting mauve Butterfly G&T cocktail.
We were lucky to invite Georgi from Key is in the Detail who’s an up and coming wedding planner. She was looking for more depth on shoot work. We’d built up a great Instagram relationship so invited her down to help us on the day. She was super helpful and a huge asset, while giving her expertise on areas throughout the day.
So, once we found the colour palette and mix of materials, we scouted out local dress suppliers for a fitting dress and ultimately fell in love with the tulle ivory Halliday dress with romantic puff detachable sleeves, boned corset and sweetheart neckline. Supplied by our local bridal boutique Elizabeth Lucas. We felt very lucky as our models were actually a real couple enquiring with us for their own wedding, so we approached them about modelling for us. Under the Covid guidelines we needed a ‘real life couple’, so all intimacy and romance is very real. The dress fitted Corrie like a glove, it was like it was made for her. Joel’s suit was an ASOS find from Burton, again modern and fitted in a pale grey with pastel blue accents.
As the dress had a sweetheart neckline, Unity let Corrie’s brunette hair cascade over her shoulders in loose waves. The beaded pearl accented accessories and headwear by Victoria Louise sat perfectly amongst these, adding the finishing touches. Due to Corona we couldn’t have MUA involved on the day but Sonia Schofield MUA was just the best. She worked with our model via video link, spoke to Corrie before to see what makeup she had and what they had to work with and then guided her on how to master a soft dewy natural look.
The shoot went better than we could ever envision. We like to keep our shoots relaxed. We worked with new suppliers and some of our existing friends in the industry, so we wanted everyone to feel comfortable in new surroundings. The aim of our shoots is to make it a huge team effort and this was no exception. We all worked together, helping each other and listening to any guidance that may help us make this shoot AMAZING. We had such a laugh all day. All the hard work, effort and time we all put to create it was so worth it. We would love to do it all over again.
