Doxford Barns is an award-winning barn wedding venue nestled within a private 550-acre country estate, along the Northumberland coast near Alnwick. Bespoke, rustic and full of charming romantic character, Doxford Barns is a beautiful barn wedding venue where rural charm effortlessly meets modern elegant style.
Our approach to creating your dream wedding experience is to stray away from the ‘norm’. We offer both one and three-day wedding options, where we give you complete freedom to enjoy our venue and surrounding space. At Doxford Barns our specialism lies in creating wedding experiences that are completely bespoke to each wedding couple. We are a truly unique barn wedding venue in rural Northumberland, offering couples the chance to spend time with friends and family in a relaxed, family run venue, creating memories that will last forever.
Our onsite accommodation gives guests the feeling that they are on holiday and escaping from life into a rural retreat. We offer exclusivity to couples, there are only ever the wedding party and staff, no passers-by or golfers walking through their wedding photos!

We had our December wedding reception at Doxford Barns; we had the most amazing day and a large part of that was down to the venue and the incredible staff who work there - I honestly can't praise it and them enough! The service was flawless but still personal, and we heard so many positive comments about the operations staff from our guests on the day. Add to that the incredible food they served us (delicious and very generous portions) and of course, the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. We were very lucky to have Abi as our wedding coordinator, who went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding day was exactly what we wanted. Luxury Rustic is how the Best Man summed it up. We had a perfect winter wedding, joyous from start to finish. Superbly orchestrated by Abi at Doxford Barns who kept us on track from the Friday night supper, through the main event to the Sunday brunch seamlessly. Great cottages on site warmed with real fires and an aga and the fire pit and twinkling lights outside the barn were magical. I literally cannot scream from the rooftops about this place enough! My husband and I got married at Doxford Barns on 26.08.2019 and as cliche as it sounds it was the best day of our lives. Every time I even think about my wedding day I have the biggest, goofiest grin on my face and we couldn't have picked a more perfect venue for us.
The staff at Doxford Barns cannot do enough to help you, I am a control freak but was so relaxed on the day as everything just ran so smoothly. Abi my wedding co-ordinator was a dream, from last minute seating plan changes, to arranging decorations to be moved, she is fantastic at her job and I was so lucky to have her.
The food was fantastic, just what we wanted and the pudding especially went down a treat, we opted for the trio of desserts: sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownie and lemon posset and our Belgian guests still can't stop going on about the sticky toffee pudding. We also had breakfast in the Great Barn the next day which was the perfect finish to the wedding and a great way to say bye to everyone.
The venue and grounds are absolutely breath taking and if you want a wedding that is really going to blow your guests minds, look no further. I work in the wedding industry and have seen hundreds of venues but nothing has ever felt quite so special as Doxford Barns did. So many of my guests told me it was the best wedding they had ever attended and I completely agree. Thank you so, so, so much Doxford Barns for a day I will never ever forget.
