Birdsall House nestles in one of the most picturesque and secluded of Yorkshire’s landscapes just five miles from Malton with a Church within it’s grounds and seven staterooms licensed for ceremonies.
With stunning views up to the Yorkshire Wolds in one direction and over the gardens in the other, this elegant and exquisitely furnished family owned country house provides the ideal setting for a wedding or special celebration, where guests can celebrate in style and complete privacy.
From the stunning Ballroom that gives an impressive space and the historic Oval Room with its own grand piano to the intimate woodland, or the Church within the grounds, there’s no end of options in one of North’s most remarkable stately homes.
Now with a ceremony license that incorporates the front of the house and historic ruins or the temple which overlooks the lake in addition to all of the reception rooms, this house is exclusively yours with the option to turn your wedding into a relaxing get-away. Only one wedding is ever booked each weekend to give you time to enjoy your special day and make your celebration unique to you.
Luxury bedrooms were completely renovated recently, with modern décor that compliments the heritage of the house and a double bath in the bridal suite. The Sunday Times said of the stately home: “This ancestral house feels surprisingly homely and welcoming – a makeover masterclass”.

Having the freedom and flexibility to plan the wedding we wanted, rather than being restricted by a set package, was most appealing to me and my husband. We wanted a day that was utterly unique and Birdsall House gave us that and so much more.
Having exclusive use of the entire venue made a definite difference to us. We felt privileged to host our family and friends in a place that holds so much history and our guests could not fail to be impressed by the size and scale of the house.
The grounds Birdsall is set within were a beautiful backdrop for our photographs and gave us the scope to put up a party tent - allowing our celebrations to continue on into the night.
Having a Church on the Estate made our wedding all the more meaningful for us and brought an added dimension to our day. We had just what we wanted and Birdsall House will hold a special place in our hearts forever more!

Cara was indefatigable and without doubt the brightest star in our wedding galaxy (to fumble a metaphor). Birdsall was heavenly and I shall certainly sing its praises to anyone who asks.James
We had the most wonderful wedding at Birdsall House and it was everything we had hoped for. We felt welcomed like family during the planning and set up of the wedding and well hosted guests on our wedding day. All of the Birdsall team were so friendly, welcoming and went the extra mile from the initial set up through to breakfast the next morning. They creat- ed such a happy and relaxed environment for us to get ready in on the morning of the wed- ding, with beautifully decorated rooms, large bathrooms and lunch.
All of our guests commented on what a unique and simply beautiful venue Birdsall House is and we loved the versatility of allowing our guests to be in a different area of the house and grounds for each key part of the day.
Above all it was the whole day felt very personal and bespoke to us as a couple. We couldn’t recommend Birdsall House more highly as a destination for future couples looking for a truly magical venue.
