Hi, I’m Vivian, the founder and creative director of Precision Events UK, a celebration and event planning company. We do event planning and venue styling for all celebrations, including weddings across the South East of England and Northampton.

WHERE DID YOUR PASSION FOR WEDDING PLANNING COME FROM?

I’ve always been artistic and creative from the get-go. One of my jobs was actually in events management and hospitality, and through that I really fell in love with using my creative flair to put together elegant events. I also get real joy from seeing people’s visions come to life, and so all those things eventually brought me to a point where I had no choice but to pursue my dream of helping people birth their visions.

Each couple and relationship is unique, and this couldn’t be more evident than on your big day – and this is what he loves most about wedding photography. So where did it all begin? At college, Scott played in a band but as he confesses, all his friends were much better and inevitably started playing more gigs without him. Scott found himself photographing gigs instead and this led to work with PR companies, bands, and even festivals. He then fell into the wedding industry a few years later once his friends started tying the knot.

As it happens, there are many similarities between festivals and weddings, and Scott simply loves the fast paced action of the day combined with all the fun to be had, and of course, spending time with close friends.

ON THE WEDDING DAY

I am close to the action. I focus on quickly making the couple and guests feel at ease with me so I can move around, capturing all the moments as they happen naturally. I don’t want to disturb any interactions, and I like to think that moment would happen whether I was there or not. I am just documenting it, and the funnier the better.

Alex embarked on her photography journey at a young age, and was always playing around with disposable cameras and Polaroids. She then studied for her diploma in film photography when she was 19, and that’s when the real magic happened. Creating images and developing them in a dark room truly captured her imagination.

After having a photography business – Alexandria French Photography – as a side hustle for several years, she then took the leap and turned it into her full-time career when she had her baby.

As Alex says: “Photography is my passion. I chose this career because making people happy through my work makes me happy too. I started up my business because having my little girl made me feel powerful and I want to show her that #girlsarepowerful and that we can do anything we set our minds to. The power of an image is pure magic.”

Eleanor says: You only get married once so how will you know if a caterer, florist, stylist, band, DJ, photographer, videographer, or marquee supplier is the one for you?

You can type ‘wedding catering’ into Google and be faced with hundreds of options. How do you narrow this down to just one? The simple answer is that you hire a planner to do the leg work for you.

We work with our suppliers day in day out, so we know what their natural style is, what their strengths are, and really what their parameters are to achieve their absolute best work.

For example, in the days of Pinterest it is easy for a couple to ask a florist to “recreate this please”, but if you ask a very traditional styled florist to copy a wild woodland arrangement, you aren’t going to get the best result.

ON LOVING WEDDINGS

Natasha says: Honestly, I am just a hopeless romantic! I actually love, love. I adore listening to every part of a bride’s journey, from the proposal right through to their plans for their big day. The excitement, nerves and emotional moments of the trials and wedding mornings remind me of what’s good and important in this world, and positive energy is infectious, so why not surround yourself with it?

On a more makeup-based note, I cannot describe how incredible it feels to walk away from a wedding morning knowing you have made someone feel the best they have ever felt. It’s so special to be a part of their day.

SERVICE

From the initial enquiry through to the wedding day, I am there to guide the bride along the way. My experience in the wedding industry ensures I can advise my brides on almost everything, this is why I have created a bespoke bridal brochure for each bride that enquires with me. This includes details about their makeup journey and also pro tips on how to ensure the wedding morning runs smoothly, and finally a good list of my favorite suppliers.

Once booked, I offer a makeup trial in which I speak at length with the bride about their makeup preferences and create the bridal makeup that they desire. I then take all I have learnt about that bridal trial to their wedding day and create the perfect look for them.

SIGNATURE STYLE

I would say that my signature style is a ‘lit from within’ glow, with a soft glam golden smokey eye. I love radiant skin and soft eyes, as for me it is the perfect balance of glam and natural.

My clients usually go for this look however, growing more and more popular every day is soft pink shades on the eyes with a nude pink lip. This seems to have come into play with the craze for blush-toned bridesmaid dresses. For this look, I always reach for my Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk palette.
